Auto Auction Deposit & Payment Policy (International Clients)

TSURUGI Inc.

To participate in Japanese auto auctions through TSURUGI Inc., a bidding deposit is required. Japanese auctions operate under strict, binding rules. Once a vehicle is won, cancellation is generally not permitted and penalties may apply. The deposit protects both the client and TSURUGI Inc. from auction-related risk.

Bidding Deposit

Amount: USD 1,000

Payment methods accepted:

  • International SWIFT bank transfer to TSURUGI Inc. corporate MUFJ Bank account
  • Escrow.com (recommended for first-time international clients; escrow fees may apply)

Deposit Conditions

  • The deposit is held separately from the vehicle payment.
  • The deposit is not automatically applied to the vehicle invoice.
  • If the client continues bidding without winning, no fee is charged.
  • If the client wins and fully pays for the vehicle, the deposit is refunded in full.

Deposit refunds are processed within 3–5 business days after confirmation of full vehicle payment. Bank transfer fees, intermediary bank charges, or currency conversion costs (if applicable) are the responsibility of the Client.

Withdrawal Before Purchase

If the client decides to withdraw before purchasing any vehicle, a USD 100 service fee is deducted from the deposit. The remaining balance is refunded within 3–5 business days. Any bank transfer fees, intermediary bank charges, or currency conversion costs are deducted from the refund amount.

Cancellation After Winning

If a client cancels after bidding authorization, refuses a vehicle after winning, or fails to complete payment within the auction deadline, the deposit may be used to cover:

  • Auction cancellation penalties
  • Domestic transport costs
  • Re-auction fees
  • Administrative expenses

Vehicle Payment

After winning a vehicle, full payment must be completed within the auction deadline (typically 2–3 business days). An official invoice will be issued by TSURUGI Inc. detailing:

  • Auction hammer price
  • Auction fees
  • Consumption tax
  • Recycling fee
  • Domestic transport
  • TSURUGI service commission

International shipping cost is calculated separately.
